Be an “active listener” by responding with the following instead of getting frustrated.  Remember, learning a new language is difficult and takes lots of practice & patience.

Use the phrases “sorry/excuse me/pardon” instead of “what”

Say “can you speak slower (or more slowly)”

“What does _____ mean”

“”How do you say ______”

“What do you mean”

“Do you know what I mean/Know what I’m saying”
